Frequently Asked Questions

Sun exposure must be avoided BEFORE and AFTER microblading or any permanent makeup procedure. Face/Brows can not be sunburnt at time of appointment. You will also need to avoid major sun exposure, getting the brows wet, and heavy sweating for 2 weeks following the treatment.
If you have very OILY or POROUS skin, microblading will NOT work well for you. The over-production of oil can cause the hair-strokes to heal with a diffused, softer look. Other permanent makeup options are more appropriate such as Ombre / Powder Brow.

If you are a frequent smoker, your pigment may fade sooner.

If you are iron deficient or anemic, your pigment may fade sooner and bleeding/bruising may occur during and after the procedure.

If you have previous microblading / eyebrow tattooing, please send 3 full face photos in good lighting to us for approval prior to booking.
Bleeding during the procedure: Any bleeding during the treatment will reduce the amount of pigment retained in the skin.

Caffeine, alcohol, and any medications that act as blood-thinners should NOT be taken prior to your appointment.

Sun exposure: Freshly tanned/sunburnt skin is damaged skin. Tattooing on damaged, sensitive skin causes excessive bleeding and can create scarring from permanent makeup procedures. The sun will also soften and discolor the look of your tattoo, so sunblock should be used daily (once healed).

Aftercare Instructions: Failure to follow the aftercare diligently during the first 8-14 days of healing can contribute to less than desirable results. For example: sweating or hot showers during healing can distort the shape and color of hairstrokes when fully healed.

The regeneration of skin cells: The longer the regeneration takes, the longer the pigment holds in the skin.

Iron Deficiency: If you suffer from anemia or low iron this could affect the way your body reacts to the pigment. The pigment used contains iron oxide which can result in the hairstrokes to fade or change in hue due to your body absorbing the iron.
Do NOT drink any CAFFEINE or ALCOHOL the night before or day of your appointment. This is very important and will directly affect your healed results.

Do NOT take blood thinners 48 hours prior to treatment. This includes: Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Niacin, Vitamin E, Fish Oil, Omega-3 Fatty Acid supplements.

If you regularly get your eyebrows shaped, waxed, threaded or tinted, please do so at least 3 days before your appointment.

Do NOT tan or sunburn skin leading up to the appointment.

Do NOT work out or sweat heavily the day of the procedure. You also need to avoid sweating 8-14 days after treatment.

If you plan to go on vacation/spend time in the sun, it is recommended you plan your trip at least 2 weeks after the procedure. It is recommended that you avoid tanning of the face 1 week prior to your procedure. If you show up for your appointment with a sunburn, you will need to reschedule and will forfeit your deposit.

AHA/BHA's and RETINOL: (lactic, glycolic, citric, retinoic and tartaric acids) or any products for tone-correcting, anti-aging, and exfoliating will discolor your microblading. Discontinue these 1-2 weeks prior depending on strength of product.

Chemotherapy

Diabtetes

Glaucoma

The risk of developing an eye infection is higher.

Thyroid Conditions The color of your brows can fade faster when taken with certain thyroid medications.

High Blood Pressure Your blood pressure has to be stable. Excessive bleeding during the procedure can lead to poor pigment retention. May require additional treatments.
Individuals with a pre-existing eyebrow, eyeliner, or lip tattoo or permanent makeup - please send 3 full face photos in good lighting for approval.

Individuals who are allergic to lidocaine or epinephrine Our numbing agent is comprised of lidocaine and epinephrine. If you are allergic to these, we will not be able to use it during the procedure; however, you will still have an option to proceed without any numbing to reduce the pain.

Individuals with oily skin Those with very oily or porous skin are ineligible for microblading. Other forms of cosmetic tattoo such as powder / ombre are more appropriate. Those with less oily or combination skin, may consider microblading, but more frequent touch ups may be necessary at additional cost.
Although we see beautiful results on 99% of clients, healed results can not be guaranteed. A small percentage of individuals do not hold pigment well due to many factors including medications, skin health, and lifestyle. This can not be predicted. When booking, you accept that possibility.

THIS IS A TWO-STEP PROCESS: Your initial session followed by a 6-12 week perfection session. The touch up is a separate fee and is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO BOOK. Within the first week post procedure, your brows, lips, or eyeliner will fade substantially in size and color. While many clients heal beautifully and retain a lot of the pigment in the skin, most require a second appointment to perfect the brows. In rare cases, a third session (at additional cost) may be required to achieve your desired healed result.

PERFECTION SESSION: This session is a separate fee. It is recommended you book your 6-12 week touch-up in advance if possible. This is not required but highly recommended. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO BOOK THIS SESSION. Please book this online before or after your initial session. I cannot guarantee you availability. Anything booked beyond the 6-12 week time frame will be subject to a higher fee. NO EXCEPTIONS!

RESCHEDULING: All rescheduling must be made a minimum of 72 hours before your appointment. Clients are only able to reschedule ONCE. Please check your availability beforehand to ensure proper booking. I cannot guarantee you availability. Limit 1 reschedule per client.

The permanent makeup process takes multiple hours, and the deposit is used to reserve this time. Rescheduling must be made more than 72 hours before your appointment. Any changes to your appointment within 72 hours will result in the forfeit of the deposit and future appointments will require another deposit of $50-$150 (depending on service) to reschedule. All cancellations without rescheduling will result in the forfeit of deposit. Clients who "NO SHOW" forfeit their deposit and will be required to pay service in full prior to re-booking.

Photos/Videos will be taken before and after your procedure and are required by our insurance. They may be posted to social media and our website for advertising/marketing purposes.

Guests, children, and animals are not allowed at the appointment for sanitary reasons.

Please be on time so that your technician will have ample time for your appointment and as a courtesy to the next client. Arriving 15 minutes or later can result in the cancellation of your appointment and forfeit of your deposit.
